We provide aprons but some clay can stain clothing so please wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We recommend comfortable shoes as you will need your feet for support while throwing at the potter's wheel.

We highly recommend trimming your fingernails.

Tie your hair back and remove dangling jewelry, watches or rings.

We are a dog-friendly studio. Please inform us before you book your class if:

• You decide to bring your dog

• You are shy around dogs

• For all day parking, park on streets without residential parking permit signs. This is available :

  • In front of the studio, on Boise Ave, between the alley and Venice Blvd

  • North of McCune Ave (Between Centinela Ave and Beethoven St)

• 2-Hour daytime parking (8am-6pm) is available on Boise Ave between Venice Blvd and McCune Ave

Yes — we love dogs! 🐾 Well-mannered pups who get along with others are welcome, as long as they don’t distract from anyone’s learning. Our studio mascot, Autumn, will greet you too!

Please let us know before your visit if:

For Introduction Class and Private Lessons, pieces will be ready for pick up 4-6 weeks after your lesson.
We will contact you through email or text to arrange a pick up appointment.

We do not offer refunds. Studio credit only may apply in eligible cases.

• Introduction Class

  Self-reschedule up to 24 hours before class using the [Reschedule Class] link in your confirmation email. Please do not email or text to reschedule, using the link ensures your seat is retained. No shows, cancellations will result in a full charge for that seat.

  Late Arrivals may miss out on making a handbuilding project.

  Classes with fewer than 3 students may be canceled. We will notify you via text or phone call.

• Class Package (Flexi)

  Book your class online up to 5 minutes before class start time.

  You may reschedule your session up to 8 hours before the start of class using the [Reschedule Class] link in your booking confirmation email.

  No shows, cancellations, or rescheduling within 8 hours of class will result in a full charge for that session.

  Please note your Class Package expiration date. Plan ahead to make the most of your lessons.

• Class Package (Series)

  If you can’t attend a class, please reschedule at least 12 hours in advance through your booking confirmation email. Use the [Reschedule Class] button to move it to the following (5th) week and avoid forfeiting your lesson.

  No shows, cancellations, or rescheduling within 12 hours of class will be charged in full amount charge for that class.

  Make Classes expire 42 days from the purchase date. Plan ahead to make the most of your lessons.

• Private Lessons

  Reschedule yourself up to 72 hours (3 days) before your lesson using the [Reschedule Class] link in your booking confirmation email.

  Rescheduling between 72–24 hours before your lesson is subject to a 50% fee (this covers your instructor’s time). To move your credit forward, please email throw@handsinclayla.com or call/text 310-567-2708.

  Rescheduling or canceling within 24 hours of your lesson, or not showing up, will result in a full charge.

We have a kiln onsite for firing work made by currently enrolled students only. We do not offer outside firing services at this time.

Gift cards are sold as class credits or a dollar amount to be used towards a class purchase.

You may pay in person via cash, card, Apple or Google Pay. If you prefer a digital gift card, we will email you an invoice with the digital gift card attached.
